A commemorative ceremony was held at the Sofia Synagogue to mark one year since the unprecedented attack by the Palestinian movement Hamas against Israel. The attack led to war in the Gaza Strip, which then spread to neighboring Lebanon against Hezbollah. Politicians, public figures and citizens observed a moment of silence to honor the memory of the victims. A religious service was also held.

"The cycle of hatred and violence in the region must be ended for the sake of living in peace, stability and understanding for future generations", said caretaker Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivan Kondov. He added that the unprecedented attack of October 7 has put to the test the understanding of the essence of humanity, reported BTA. Minister Kondov said that "today we express solidarity with the families of the victims and hope for the release of the hostages, among whom are two of our compatriots''.
