Bulgarian citizens who are on the territory of Florida must strictly follow the instructions of the local authorities and refrain from travelling to the regions hit by Hurricane Milton, the Situation Centre of the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises. Bulgarian citizens in need of assistance can contact the Bulgarian embassy in Washington DC. The Situation Centre telephones are open 24/7 for reports and requests for assistance.

In the aftermath of the passage of Hurricane Milton along the West Coast, Florida has been hit by heavy rainfall. A state of emergency is in place in connection with the risk of flooding. Several million households are without power, drinking water has been shut down in St. Petersburg, the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry writes.
