Farmers and breeders will exhibit their products at a fair in Sapareva Banya

Today, 12 October, Sapareva Banya will host the first meeting of breeders and farmers from the Kyustendil region. There will be a ceremonial opening at 11.30 a.m. with a blessing of water in the chapel of St Mary and a blessing of the sacrificial meal (kurban) for health and prosperity, which will then be served to the guests. 

Visitors will be able to see livestock bred by local farmers. The programme includes a parade and a competition for the most beautiful horse, as well as a tasting of products from local producers, reports BNR - Radio Blagoevgrad. The event will present information about Bulgarian breeds - Karakachan and heavy horse breeds, as well as Bulgarian brown cattle, black-haired cattle and the Bulgarian sheepdog. A rich folklore programme is being prepared.
