A conference on "Argentina and Bulgaria on Antarctica. Friendship and synergy, a step beyond the boundaries of cooperation" is organized this evening at Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski by the Embassy of Argentina in Bulgaria. The leader of the forum will be rear admiral Marchelo Tarapov, President of the Antarctic Academy in Argentina. This was announced by the Bulgarian Antarctic Institute (BAI). Tarapov participated in 12 expeditions to Antarctica. Among the honors he has received is an award from the Bulgarian Ministry of Defense in 2023.

At the end of the event, the photographic exhibition "Argentina and Bulgaria on Antarctica. Two stories and one friendship" will be opened.

Bulgaria highly appreciates Argentina's key logistical support for the Bulgarian Antarctic expedition over the years, as well as the training of the crew of the Bulgarian ship for its first voyage in Antarctic waters.
