A Taiwanese technology giant wants to build a factory near Plovdiv

A Taiwanese technology giant is negotiating to build a large production facility on the territory of the Trakia Economic Zone near Plovdiv, announced caretaker Minister of Innovation and Growth Rosen Karadimov. He was briefed with the progress of the construction of several large enterprises in the area and the adjacent infrastructure, the BNR’s correspondent in Plovdiv Kremena Daneva reported. According to BGNES, it is a company that manufactures chips and semiconductors and holds a large share of the market. According to minister Karadimov, the investment is worth billions. An intergovernmental group will be formed to support the investor.

Rosen Karadimov pointed out that since the beginning of 2024, investments totaling half a billion leva have been attracted to the Trakia Economic Zone, and the state has supported the municipalities with nearly 7 million leva for the construction of the supporting infrastructure.
