The National Music Competition "Like the Lions" 2024 is taking place from October 18 to 20 at the BNR's Concert Hall in Varna. The musical event has garnered significant interest, with participating children and teenagers coming from over 20 cities in Bulgaria, said the organizers. The musical format returns with the consent of Niki Aprilov, a long-time host, director and creator of the children's show "Like the Lions".
Its first edition was held back in 1991. Over the years, it has discovered numerous talents at a young age—from 6 to 10 years old. With a brief interruption, the competition continued until 2008 and marked the beginning of the careers of well-known figures in Bulgarian music and show business such as Krisko, Vasil Vasilev (Zueka), folk singer Maria, Kamen Vodenicharov, etc. The emblematic song of the event is "Like the Lions", performed by Deyan Nedelchev.
