A marathon in Frankfurt and a change of polling station address made voting there difficult

Election day in Frankfurt went smoothly, Katya Zlatkova, a member of a polling station committee in the city, told Radio Bulgaria. She noted two factors that made voting a little difficult, but they were mainly logistical. One is that this election is being held in a new location. Most people didn't know about it and went to the previous address. The second was that there was a marathon in Frankfurt today, which caused traffic restrictions.

"The number of voters in Frankfurt has fluctuated over the years. About 800 people voted in the June elections, but I can't predict how many will vote now. In June there were about 800 in Frankfurt alone, but in a radius of about 20 kilometres there were many more polling stations. At the moment there are also polling stations in Darmstadt, Dittenbach, Mainz, etc. around Frankfurt".

After talking to voters, Katja highlighted some of their main motivations for voting today:

"The opinions are different, but what stands out the most is that voters feel responsible for their homeland, their relatives and the people who live there. Of course, there are also people who do not want to vote because they think it is none of their business," she says, urging Bulgarians to vote because every vote counts.
