Veselin Dimanov, director of the most watched documentary “Morality is goodness” is Enlightener of the Year, 2024.

His film tells the story of lawyer and university lecturer, the late Christian Takov, whose words and personal example have become a benchmark of good citizenship, integrity and relentless opposition to the injustices in our society.

“Do not be afraid of the dark! Light a candle!” With these words, which belong to Christian Takov, Veselin Dimanov received the award he won by popular vote in the 11th edition of the Enlightener of the Year campaign of the Bulgarian National Radio. He added that all nominees for the prize inspire, give wings and lend a meaning.

The special prize of the BNR went to the Natural Sciences Olympic Teams Association. “Today we celebrate education and the future. We celebrate the people who do good and who make us better,” said the Director General of the BNR Milen Mitev at the award ceremony.

Double transplant swimming champion Georgi Peev received the special award of bTV.
