Today, Vice President Iliana Iotova is opening the exhibition “Ancient Thrace and the Classical World: Treasures from Bulgaria, Romania, and Greece” at the Getty Museum in Los Angeles, the presidential press service has announced.

Fourteen Bulgarian museums with more than 150 exhibits are taking part in the exposition. Over 90% of all items on display come from Bulgaria. The artifacts cover a period of more than 2,000 years – from the Late Bronze Age (2nd millennium BC) to the time of the Roman Empire, and illustrate the important place of Thrace in the ancient world.

One day before the opening of the exhibition, Iliana Iotova marked National Awakeners’ Day together with the students from the Bulgarian school Saints Cyril and Methodius in Los Angeles.
