The coalition GERB/SDS are beginning talks for discussing joint political action within the 51st National Assembly, the GERB/SDS press centre has announced.

The meetings start on Wednesday, 13 November. Talks with the coalition Bulgarian Socialist Party-United Left are scheduled for 8.30 AM, and with There Is Such a People (ITN) – for 9.30 AM. On the part of GERB/SDS the meetings will be conducted by the party’s chairman Boyko Borrisov, together with MPs Raya Nazaryan, Tomislav Donchev and Rosen Zhelyazkov. The meetings are scheduled before 11 AM, the time when the first sitting of the 51st parliament, which was adjourned on Monday, is set to continue. The sitting was adjourned on Monday when the members of parliament failed to elect a president of the National Assembly

Regarding the upcoming meetings, GERB leader Boyko Borissov once again outlined the prospects for forming a government in the 51st National Assembly. According to him, the possible construction of parties that could work together includes There is Such a People (ITN), BSP-United Left, GERB-SDS, and We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria (PP-DB). The talks will begin with ITN and BSP-United Left, and depending on the outcome, a meeting with PP-DB will follow. Boyko Borissov emphasized once again that the only way to ensure clear political responsibility in such a ruling coalition is for him to be the prime minister.
