International Mountain Film Festival to be held within the Bansko Film Fest

For the twenty-third year, the Bansko Film Fest team will take the audience to some of the most extreme corners of the world with 75 films from 39 countries. ''All of them are premieres, and for some of them, the screenings in Bansko will be world premieres", festival director Natalie Petrova said in an interview with BTA. Films from Tajikistan and South Korea will be presented for the first time this year. The festival also features films from Italy, Poland, Austria, France, Germany, the United States, the UK, etc.

The International Mountain Film Festival, which is traditionally held in the mountain resort of Bansko, begins on November 20. The Bulgarian audience will have the chance to meet world-renowned adventurers, including Polish ski mountaineer Andrzej Bargiel, who made mountaineering history after becoming the first person ever to ascent and ski down all eight-thousanders in the Karakoram range in Pakistan. Austrian extreme climbing legend Beat Kammerlander will also be a guest at the festival. The festival will also be attended by representatives from Italy - adventurer Alex Bellini and climber and mountain guide Peter Moser. On November 22, two-time "Golden Ice Axe" winner Andrej Štremfelj will share stories from his career in alpinism.
