The unemployment rate in Bulgaria remained at 5.2% in October

The number of unemployed individuals who started work in October has increased by 830, or by 5.9% compared to the previous month. According to data from the National Employment Agency, a total of 14,852 unemployed people started work in October. The unemployment rate in Bulgaria remained at 5.2% in October. It is calculated as the share of registered unemployed individuals in the economically active population aged 15-64, as determined by the 2021 census.

The highest number of vacancies are in the manufacturing sector (26.3%), followed by trade (14.1%), education (12%), public administration (10.5%), administrative and auxiliary services (7%) and hospitality and catering (6.8%). There is also a demand for operators of stationary machinery and equipment, social workers, salespeople, workers in the mining and processing industries, construction and transportation workers, waste collectors, drivers, administrative specialists, etc.
