Vice President Iliana Iotova pointed out that the changed texts in the Constitution have turned against their creators.

Yotova told journalists that "because of these changes in the Constitution, the Speaker of the National Assembly cannot be elected today."

According to the vice-president, the parties are not thinking about whether the candidate is suitable or not to be the speaker of the National Assembly, but whether he or she will eventually be a good prime minister and especially whose prime minister he or she will be.

The situation is repeated in the election of the Ombudsman, the head of the National Audit Office and all other high-level positions, she pointed out.

Therefore, she said, the Constitutional Court should hurry up with the hearing of the case related to the appeal of the constitutional amendments concerning the powers of the President.
