National Statistical Institute: Bulgarians aged 25 to 44 travel most

One million and eight hundred Bulgarian citizens travelled as tourists during the third quarter of the year, National Statistical Institute data show. 72.3% of them travelled inside the country, 20.8% travelled abroad and 6.9% - both inside Bulgaria and abroad. Compared to the July-September 2023 period, the number of people over 15 who have travelled remains unchanged.

People from the 25-44 age group travel most, accounting for 38.6% or a total of 703,200 people. In most age groups people travel mostly inside the country. Most of the tourist travel inside the country and abroad was for holiday and recreational purposes.

One person spent an average of 499 Leva for travel for personal purposes inside Bulgaria and 849 Leva for travel abroad, and professionally - 289 Leva and 1,233 Leva respectively.
