Joy, optimism and good mood. This is what the team of the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Bratislava promise us. On December 8, at Teatro Colorato in the Slovak capital, at 6 p.m. local time, the concert "Let it be Jazz, Let it be Christmas" starts. The audience will be able to enjoy the favorite music of famous Bulgarian composer Yosif Tsankov (1911-1971).

The program includes a specially created cycle of 20 miniatures for trombone quartet, prepared as arrangements personally by the composer's grandson and one of the best trombonists in the country, Velislav Stoyanov.

The new "reading" combines the classical sound of Bulgarian music with an innovative approach to improvisation and chamber performance. The quartet also includes Ivan Melin, Max Stoyanov and Dimitar Stoev - musicians who know how to combine the unique wealth of the Bulgarian musical heritage with the impulsiveness and freedom of jazz improvisation. The ability of the four to achieve this effect is proof of the great "flexibility" and longevity of the scores written by Yosif Tsankov. Creativity that transcends time and traditions and that leads us to the warmth of Christmas in the rhythm of Bulgaria, the organizers say.
