The Odeon of Philippopolis is a starting point of new tourist routes in Plovdiv, Minister of Tourism Evtim Miloshev said upon visiting the restored site in the city center.
The ancient landmark is part of the forum complex and was officially presented as a new tourist attraction. “Plovdiv is the city that tells stories. The restoration of the Odeon creates new opportunities for tourist experience,” Miloshev said. The accompanying new 3-D attractions are expected to attract many tourists to Plovdiv, the oldest continuously inhabited city in Europe.
With a capacity of 350 seats, the restored Odeon can host international events, such as concerts, theatre performances and conferences.
