The formation of a majority is a pretty challenging task in a highly fragmented parliament. I am glad that parliament is starting its work in substance, said President Rumen Radev at the beginning of his meeting with representatives of GERB/SDS at the presidency. Within the frameworks of the political consultations with the president on the formation of a government, GERB leader Boyko Borissov stated that political ego has proved to be a very big problem for Bulgaria. The country needs a regular government, and this week GERB will do its best to convince their colleagues that this is so, Boyko Borissov said. GERB will be ready to receive a mandate for the formation of a cabinet by 16 December, he said.
Consultations with PP/DB
Do you plan to be part of GERB’s efforts for the formation of a government, Rumen Radev asked We Continue the Change/Democratic Bulgaria (PP/DB), represented by Nikolai Denkov, Nadezhda Yordanova and Kiril Petkov during his meeting with the second biggest political force – PP/DB. We know well our responsibility in this process, said Nikolai Denkov. Adopting the budget is top priority, as is the adoption, as a matter of urgency, of the laws connected with the Recovery and Resilience plan, Nikolai Denkov said further. PP co-chair Kiril Petkov stated that the party would remain vigilant with regard to GERB’s preparedness to “break” with the underhand power dealings on which GERB is dependent. Nadezhda Yordanova from Democratic Bulgaria added that a pro-European, anticorruption majority is possible.
