"I am addressing a question to the Prime Minister regarding information that on November 26 this year, a group of Bulgarian citizens was on trial in London on charges of spying for Russia," Atanas Atanasov, leader of the Democrats for a Strong Bulgaria party, told the media. In his words, there was media information that gave "reason to believe that the group had logistical support in Bulgaria". A Bulgarian publication also pointed to a specific village where the logistical base of this spy group was located and named two of the participants, the MP said.
"Therefore, I ask the Prime Minister what action the Bulgarian security services have taken in relation to these revelations and whether there has been a breach of national security and whether links have been established between them and senior Bulgarian politicians," Atanasov said.
