Foreign Minister Ivan Kondov sends letter to John X, Patriarch of Antioch and All the East

Caretaker Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivan Kondov sent a letter to His Beatitude John X, Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, expressing Bulgaria's unwavering support and solidarity with the Syrian people and Orthodox Christians in Syria, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported. In his letter, Minister Kondov expressed hope that they will live as equal and responsible citizens of Syria, in a peaceful and prosperous country, governed by the rule of law and respect for human rights and freedoms.

 "I believe that in the future, under your spiritual leadership, Orthodox Christians will contribute greatly to the reconstruction of their country – a home for all Syrians, regardless of their faith and ethnic background", Minister Kondov also wrote, wishing prosperity and peace to the Syrian people in the spirit of the upcoming Christmas holidays.

Bulgarian Patriarch Daniil also sent a letter to John X regarding the events in Syria and Lebanon, according to information published on the website of the Bulgarian Patriarchate.  The head of the Bulgarian Church expresses his heartfelt brotherly support in these extremely difficult days for the congregation of the ancient Patriarchate of Antioch.
