President provides time for talks between parties before handing government-forming mandate

The first mandate for forming a government will be handed over after New Year’s Day, if this week is used for talks between the political formations. This became clear at a briefing by President Rumen Radev.

He pointed out that it is evident that the talks between the political forces are going difficult. "The time requested by the political forces is justified only if the parliament, along with the attempts to form a government, restores its normal work and makes up for the lost time," Radev added. "I see an understanding of the need to form a government, but you see that this is connected to many specificities for each of the parties, as the parliament is highly fragmented. The most important thing is to restore dialogue," the president pointed out.
