There are chances for the formation of a regular government. Speaking to journalists, GERB leader Boyko Borissov said that the negotiations are going well so far.
"The more we keep silent, the better", Boyko Borissov noted and expressed optimism about the talks held by the GERB-SDS negotiating team to find a majority. According to Boyko Borissov, the international situation obliges the country to form a regular government.
Boyko Borissov also pointed out that the formation of a government is hindered by Assen Vassilev, Co-chairman of the We Continue the Change (PP) and Delyan Peevski, leader of "Movement for Rights and Freedoms - A New Beginning".For his part, Delyan Peevski said that his party will be in opposition if a government is formed. He called for new elections "to have a clear and distinct winner". According to Peevski, at the moment "a whole bunch of parties need to gather to do something". He added that he does not see how "Peevski and Vassilev are hindering the formation of a government".
In Delyan Peevski’s words, Borissov’s party is the leading political force and the number of MPs he is negotiating with is sufficient to form a government. He urged the negotiators to act faster and work for Bulgaria, while the "Movement for Rights and Freedoms- A New Beginning", as the opposition, would point out all the mistakes.
The "new elections" scenario is ready, Peevski said and added that if a government is formed with the first mandate, it will only delay the new early elections. He expressed his readiness to talk to anyone who is ready to work for Bulgaria, because "people want a new beginning".
