The famous athlete Stefka Kostadinova was chosen by the Bulgarian Olympic Committee to represent Bulgaria at the photo exhibition opened at the European Parliament in Brussels under the motto "Women and Sport in the EU".
The exhibition showcases iconic female athletes from the 27 EU member states, recognizing their significant contribution to sport and their role in advancing gender equality, the Bulgarian Olympic Committee announced.

With her remarkable career, Stefka Kostadinova embodies the ideals that we want to share with visitors and fellow athletes. Through these impactful images, the event celebrates not only the sporting achievements, but also the courage and determination of these women, the organizers said in a statement.

The photo exhibition highlights how sport, as a universal language, can achieve significant results in various social sectors.

The selected photo of the Bulgarian athlete is her winning jump from the Atlanta Olympics. The photo is placed next to images of world celebrities such as gymnasts Nadia Comaneci and Vera Čáslavská, skiers Blanca Ochoa and Kristina Smigun, swimmer Kristina Egerszegi, athletes Rosa Mota, Blanca Vlasic, Voula Patoulidou, Fanny Blankers-Koen, pentathlonist Lara Asadauskaite, tennis player Steffi Graf, and others.
