On 27 December 2024, it is 21 years since the truck bomb attack on the India base in Karbala, Iraq. As a result of the explosion, five soldiers of the first Bulgarian military contingent, which took part in the stabilisation and reconstruction operation, lost their lives. The Ground Forces Command and the Joint Special Operations Command will honour the memory of our countrymen, who lost their lives during the Operation to Stabilise and Reconstruct Iraq from 2003 to 2008, with military ceremonies.
