With a message of peace and light, a ceremony was held at the Central Sofia Synagogue to light the sixth candle of Hanukkah. The event was attended by the Speaker of the Bulgarian Parliament Natalia Kiselova, Vice President Iliana Iotova, Neviana Miteva, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the Ambassador of Israel Yosef Levi Sfari. During the ceremony, the Chief Rabbi of Bulgaria, Yoel Yifrach, extended a prayer for Bulgaria, the Bulgarian people, and the Israeli hostages in the Gaza Strip.
We pray for peace, for hope, for a better future. I hope that brighter days are ahead, in which good will prevail over evil, said Kiselova.

Before lighting the third candle of Hanukkah, Vice President Iotova noted in her speech that this solemn moment was an occasion for Bulgarians to be proud, because Bulgaria is an example of how different peoples with different beliefs and from different ethnicities can live together, can share both pain and joy. Bulgaria is a wonderful example of how ethnicities and peoples in our country for centuries can not only live together, but also something more - celebrate heir holidays together, Iotova pointed out.
