The overall business climate indicator in Bulgaria has increased in December by 1.7 points from 17 percent to 18.7% compared to November. An increase in the indicator was observed in the industry sector by 1.9 points, in retail trade by 5.7 points and in the services sector by 2.4 points. Only in construction a decrease was recorded by 3.5 points , according to the summarized estimates from the business survey of the National Statistical Institute on business attitudes in the Bulgarian economy at the end of 2024.

The uncertain economic environment and the shortage of labor continue to be the main obstacles to business development, with December reporting an increase in the negative impact of economic uncertainty, insufficient demand and rising prices of materials and raw materials.
