In “Bulgaria Today” on Tuesday, 7 January, we bring you, first, the latest news from this country. Today the Bulgarian Orthodox Church honours the memory of St John the Baptist, also known as St John the Forerunner, because he prepared people for the coming of the Saviour. The day, known in Bulgaria as Ivanovden, is the name day of Ivan, Ivanka, Ioan, Ioana, Ivo, Iva, etc. and is celebrated throughout the country.

Next on the show: Vasko Vassilev-Bazilio, the distinguished voice of the BNR Mixed Choir, is celebrating 40 amazing years in radio! In an exclusive interview with Vesela Krusteva, Vasko reveals his plans to celebrate the anniversary with a big concert.
