According to a parliamentary source, government talks have been renewed

GERB-SDF, Democratic Bulgaria (DB), the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) and There Is Such a People (ITN) are resuming intensive talks to form a government. This was decided by a parliamentary presidential council, BNT reported.

According to unofficial BNR sources from two of the formations in the talks, the renewal has been in progress since the beginning of the week with separate, not joint, meetings.

The participants are optimistic that by Friday, January 10, there will be great progress in the negotiations.

On January 6, GERB suspended negotiations with Democratic Bulgaria after 21 days of discussions. The reason was that DB did not accept either of the two proposals of the first political force for prime minister. With the start of parliamentary sessions, it will probably become clearer whether the construction of a four-way coalition is possible. If the prospects are bad, GERB leader Boyko Borissov will try to avoid early elections in April with a minority cabinet, writes the website 24chasa.bg.
