Weather forecast for 10 January

Spring-like daytime temperatures

On Friday morning there will be fog or low clouds in the lowlands and valleys. Minimum temperatures will be between -3°C and 10°C in the Pre-Balkan, around 1°C in Sofia. Visibility will improve after midday, but clouds will increase from the north-west and cover the whole country by midnight. In the evening, rain will fall in the north-western regions, changing to snow as temperatures drop. Highs will be between 12 and 17°C, 12°C in the capital.

In the mountains it will be mostly sunny with scattered medium and high clouds, which will increase in the evening. Snow will fall in the Western Balkan mountains. Overnight snow showers will also occur in the Central Balkan and Western mountain ranges. The maximum temperature will be 10°C at 1,200 m and around 2°C at 2,000 m.

Sunny weather will prevail along the Black Sea coast. Maximum temperatures will be 12° to 16°C. The sea temperature will be 8-10°C. The sea swell will reach 2-3.

On Saturday, rain will spread over southern Bulgaria, the rest of the Balkan Mountains and the foothills. As it gets colder, the rain will turn to snow. Temperatures will remain almost unchanged, from minus 1°C - 0°C to 5°C - 6°C. The precipitation will temporarily stop in the evening, but snow will return from the south-west overnight into Sunday.
