Caretaker Minister of Defense Atanas Zapryanov took part in the 25th meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group at the level of Ministers of Defence at the Ramstein Air Base in Germany. There, Minister Zapryanov said that in line with the decisions of the Bulgarian parliament, Sofia remains consistent in its support for Ukraine, including its Euro-Atlantic integration. Atanas Zapryanov reaffirmed Bulgaria's commitment to unity and solidarity with its allies and partners within the US-led Ukraine Defense Contact Group in response to the most significant European security crisis in the last two years, reported BTA.

Meanwhile, in a written response to a question from MP Ivaylo Mirchev, Minister Zapryanov said that "the absurd Russian hybrid lies" about sending troops to Ukraine are among the reasons for the shortage of soldiers in the army. In his words, the systematic Russian disinformation is a threat to Bulgaria comparable to a conventional war.
