More than 170 machines are clearing snow in Sofia

Snow clearing operations continue in Sofia. A total of 170 machines are treating the streets and boulevards with anti-icing mixtures, said the press center of the Sofia Municipality. The public transport is currently operating under winter conditions. Only vehicles with snow chains are allowed on Vitosha Mountain.

The Road Infrastructure Agency urges drivers to travel only in vehicles equipped for winter conditions and to drive carefully and at a reasonable speed. In some places, traffic is difficult in the direction of Sofia. Heavy snowfall reduces visibility on the Struma and Trakia motorways. No flights have been cancelled at the Sofia Airport.
