The angelic-voiced Vanya Kostova is no longer with us, but her music is here and it is still strong, sincere and alive. Vanya's son - singer Boyan Mihaylov, now presents this "heavenly" album, which has collected 15 unreleased songs. He says that he has recordings for several more albums, but the selection of the songs in this album was the work of Vanya Kostova herself and the author of the music and arrangement, Valeri Kostov.
The lyrics, inspired by spiritual and Christian themes, were written by some of the brightest Bulgarian poets. Poetry always excited Vanya Kostova:
"She was a very productive artist and left behind a very large repertoire of songs that were of a high artistic level. She constantly read poetry and very carefully selected the lyrics to her songs. And this was evident in her attitude to every word and every sound. Many times people have told me with admiration that when they listen to my mother, they hear every word and every sound, which is very important. She is the author of the lyrics to the song ‘Angels Among Us’ (Angeli sred nas),” Boyan Mihaylov says. The song was created from Vanya Kostova’s characteristic phrases, her thoughts and experiences.
