Migrant organization alerts the EU about the trial against Bulgarians in Bitola

The Association of Descendants of Refugees and Migrants from the Territory of North Macedonia sent a position to European institutions, urging European representatives to familiarize themselves with the documents in the court case against the chairman of the defunct Ivan Mihailov Cultural Club in Bitola, Lyupcho Georgievski, reported BTA.

"Lyupcho Georgievski may face a sentence of 1 to 5 years in prison. He has not committed any crimes but has promoted ideas that are freely spread in all countries except North Macedonia, Serbia and Russia. The official policy of Skopje engenders fears within the Bulgarian community, and its activists are being forced to emigrate from North Macedonia. The persecution of Georgievski is a clear signal to all Bulgarians that the defense of Bulgarian identity and historical truth in North Macedonia is punishable", the position states.
