Canadian countertenor Nicholas Burns presents a baroque recital in Sofia

Canadian countertenor Nicholas Burns will give a recital of Baroque music, accompanied by a chamber orchestra, at the Chamber Hall of the Sofia Opera on February 6. 

Arias and instrumental pieces by Johann Sebastian Bach, Henry Purcell, Alessandro Scarlatti and George Frideric Handel will be performed.

Nicholas Burns was the winner of the 2023 competition of The Oratorio Society of New York at Carnegie Hall. He has received awards from the 2023 Young Ambassadors of Opera, the Vancouver International Music Competition and the Edmonton Opera's Rumbold Vocal Prize.
