Bulgaria’s Ambassador to Türkiye Angel Cholakov paid a visit to the Bulgarian pavilion at the 28th edition of the 28th East Mediterranean International Tourism & Travel Exhibition EMITT 2025.

Every year the number of Turkish tourists coming to Bulgaria increases but it is not enough. The geographic, cultural and folkloric proximity, the increasing transport alternatives are factors that contribute to tourism, the Bulgarian diplomat stated. A low cost airline between Istanbul and Sofia was launched a few years ago. We are working to provide two more. The ferry between Istanbul and Burgas, with a stopover at Igneada, will be launched in the spring. The Bulgaria-Türkiye joint committee for tourism is to hold a meeting this year, to be hosted by Bulgaria, and we are getting ready for it, Angel Cholakov said.
