Bulgarian Vice President Iliana Iotova has warned that the country is late with the organization and preparation for the chairmanship and hosting of the 47th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee in 2025. Iotova participated in the "SOS for Cultural Heritage" forum organized by the "Cultural Heritage" society. The organization represents Bulgaria in the largest European organization for the protection of cultural heritage "Europa Nostra".

"It is of utmost importance for us that this UNESCO session of the cultural and historical heritage committee takes place. The country, which claims one of the oldest state traditions, cannot give up this hosting. I expect many positive things for Bulgaria from the forum, including for the monuments that are at risk of exclusion," Iotova said.
