Experts from the Royal Netherlands Police are in Sofia for a series of trainings for their Bulgarian colleagues from the Border Police in the field of identification of forged documents. The organisation of the programme started last year after a visit of representatives of the Royal Netherlands Police to Bulgaria.

"Now that Bulgaria is a full member of Schengen, cooperation in securing the EU's external borders between our countries is even more important," said Luuk van Os, Acting Deputy Ambassador of the Dutch Embassy in Bulgaria.

The long-standing cooperation between the police services of the Netherlands and Bulgaria covers a wide range of issues - security, ethics and human rights, electronic registration of dangerous goods, human trafficking, assistance in the repatriation of migrants, traffic police, etc.
