Bulgaria included in European familiarisation tour of senior US officers

Deputy Minister of Defence Radostin Iliev and Deputy Chief of Defence Lt. Gen. Krassimir Kanev hosted senior U.S. officers from the National Defense University on February 14. The officers, who have completed the CAPSTONE Senior Military Leadership Development Course, are in Bulgaria as part of a European familiarisation tour aimed at preparing newly appointed generals and admirals for their future command responsibilities.

Iliev reaffirmed Bulgaria's continued commitment to strengthening and expanding its strategic defence partnership with the United States. The delegation's discussions focused on the current operational readiness of the Bulgarian Armed Forces, as well as the ongoing process of force modernisation and interoperability with NATO allies.
