Today and tomorrow, the town of Apriltsi, located in the Balkan Mountains, is hosting the traditional Festival of Bacon and Mulled Rakia, which brings together thousands of tradition enthusiasts, reported BNR correspondent Plamen Hristov. Visitors will be able to taste the meals "Babina Gozba/Granny’s Stew" and "Beans with Bacon" cooked in a large pan, as well as other specialties prepared by local chefs.

The mulled brandy, a favourite of all local people, will warm the souls of the guests and its healing properties will guarantee them good health throughout the year. It will also give them the courage to join an authentic horo dance to the sounds of live folk music.
