Far-right group organizes Lukov March in Sofia

Despite the ban by the Sofia Municipality, the Lukov March took place under heightened police presence. Participants in the far-right procession gathered on February 22 at Sveta Nedelya Square. They marched to the house of General Hristo Lukov, where they laid flowers and lit torches.

The Sofia Municipality had banned the event, but the organizers from the Bulgarian National Union appealed the decision. The court upheld the appeal. Sofia Mayor Vasil Terziev ordered the route of the march to be changed. The municipality said that the organizers did not comply with the change. The police split the procession into smaller groups to avoid confrontation.

Earlier, a protest against Lukov March took place in central Sofia under the slogan "No Nazis on Our Streets."
