The prospects for developing the significant potential of tourism in Bulgaria were discussed at a meeting between the Bulgarian Head of State Rumen Radev and the Secretary-General of the UN World Tourism Organization Zurab Pololikashvili.

The guest presented the initiatives of the World Tourism Organization for the publication of a guide for investments in the field of tourism in Bulgaria, which would guide foreign investors.

The common position was that the country has significant untapped potential in the field of cultural, culinary and wine tourism, as well as in spa tourism, thanks to the many diverse and high-quality mineral springs.

Pololikashvili also met with the Minister of Tourism Miroslav Borshosh. The two signed a letter of intent for Bulgaria to host the 9th edition of the Global Wine Tourism Conference.

Zurab Pololikashvili's visit to Bulgaria continues in the coming days.
