"Green Movement" calls on the state to protect bees from dangerous chemicals

The "Green Movement" party has called on the Bulgarian government and the Ministry of Agriculture to comply with EU laws, scientific evidence and citizens' demands, and not with corporate pressure.

"The 2023 decision of the Court of Justice of the EU categorically rejects derogations for the use of neonicotinoids, which have been proven to cause high mortality among bees and other vital pollinators. Any new request for a temporary lifting of the ban is a direct threat to biodiversity and food security," their position states.

According to the "Green Movement", the National Association of Grain Producers is trying to impose priorities that destroy the livelihoods of Bulgarian beekeepers and deal a heavy ecological blow to nature.
