A just and lasting peace can be achieved through security for Ukraine and the EU. This was stated by Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov after the end of the Security Council to the Council of Ministers. The topic of the meeting was “Review and analysis of the current geopolitical situation and the resulting risks to national security”.
Zhelyazkov explained that opinions were expressed at the meeting by all parliamentary forces based on the reports presented by cabinet ministers and services.

“It is clear that the geopolitical dynamics are predetermined by the war in Ukraine. It was stated very clearly that Bulgaria cannot afford to be put in a situation where it has to choose its support and attitude to the war between the different trends expressed by the EU and the US. We view them as allies in NATO and as a joint guarantor for the protection of our national security,” Zhelyazkov commented.
