At an extraordinary briefing of the Council of Ministers, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Innovation and Growth Tomislav Donchev announced that the government will announce next week which of the Recovery and Resilience Programme (RRP) projects will be cancelled.
In Donchev's words, the main problem is the drastic delays in RRP investments over the past four years, some of which have not taken place at all, no one has prepared procedures or carried out public tenders.
As far as the reforms are concerned, there are two packages, Donchev pointed out, adding that consultations on the final texts of the laws on justice and anti-corruption are under way.
According to him, it would be quicker to send them directly to the National Assembly. After the rejection of the second payment, the government has six months to restart the process. Donchev added that the intention was to submit the bills to the National Assembly in March.
