The international culinary competition "Cupid's Spoon" will be held in Bulgaria for the third consecutive year. The culinary contest has a mission- to show that people with disabilities can successfully cope with everyday activities when given the opportunity and the necessary support.

"Cupid's Spoon" is touring all 27 EU capitals in a specially adapted gastro truck. On March 25, in front of Hilton Sofia, participants from Bulgaria will demonstrate their talent in two categories- "Cooking" and "Cocktails".

The winners will compete in the final round of the competition, where the champions from all 31 countries will take part.

For the third time, young people with intellectual disabilities will participate in the contest, supported by the Cedar Foundation founded in Kazanlak. The NGO is working to change societal attitudes towards disadvantaged children and adults. In 2024, Stefcho, who lives in the foundation's sheltered housing, won first place for Bulgaria in the "Cooking" category and reached the final of the competition in the Croatian capital Zagreb. He spent 8 days there learning from professional chefs, and today cooking is his profession.

All people with disabilities in Bulgaria who are interested can join this exciting experience, initiated by the Croatian association UNUO. Since 2009, UNUO has been organizing gastronomic training for people with disabilities, thereby supporting their integration into the labor market.
