The construction of units 7 and 8 of the Kozloduy NPP is strategically important for Bulgaria, GERB leader and chairman of the party's parliamentary group, Boyko Borissov, says.

Borissov, together with Minister of Energy Zhecho Stankov and Budget Committee Chair Delyan Dobrev, met with Hyundai CEO Hanwoo Lee.

"I expect the project to be implemented within the deadlines set by parliament and within the budget framework," Borissov added.

The Bulgarian participants in the meeting pointed out that Bulgaria is one of the few countries where nuclear energy has over 50 years of history and well-trained personnel, which is an invaluable asset. Statistics show that over 70% of Bulgarians support the development of nuclear energy.
