On World Tuberculosis Day, the Ministry of Health has reported a trend for a permanent decrease in the incidence of tuberculosis.
While in 2014, tuberculosis patients were 23.2 per 100,000 people, ten years later their number decreased to 13.5 per 100,000 people as a result of the implementation of national programs for the prevention and control of the disease.
Under the motto "Yes! We can stop tuberculosis! Commitments, investments, results!", the "Open Doors Week" campaign starts today. Free consultations and examinations will be carried out until March 28 in medical institutions for the diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis in the regional cities.
The aim of the initiative is to raise awareness of the health, social and economic consequences of tuberculosis and to strengthen efforts to combat the global epidemic of the disease.
