The first Bulgarian armoured vehicle plant of the “International Armored Group” company has started its production in Burgas. This is being done in partnership with companies from the Bulgarian defence industry, as well as with military, scientific and technical organizations. The first vehicles to be produced are of the “Guardian Xtreme” model for combat, tactical and observation missions.
The company partners with domestic companies for the production of a large part of the components. For example, 65% of the parts for drones intended for rescue, reconnaissance and emergency teams are Bulgarian.
The latest joint developments of the engineering team are 120, 82, 81-mm self-propelled mortars, a 107-mm multiple launch system, armored vehicles with anti-tank guided complexes and reconnaissance vehicles.
"Bulgaria can and should rank among the European centers for the production of defence equipment. We receive very high assessment from specialists in the field and I believe that we are setting new standards for Bulgarian military equipment. Building a modern military industry in Bulgaria is not an expense, but an investment," the company's owner Anton Stefov said.
