Starting from 9 am today, traffic on the Danube Bridge at the border with Romania will be suspended. The restriction for cars will last 12 hours—until 9 pm, while for heavy vehicles it will be in place until 9 am on Friday, reported BNR’s correspondent in Ruse Asya Pencheva.
During this restriction, drivers of heavy vehicles will be able to use parking lots and rest areas in the regions of Ruse, Veliko Tarnovo, Yambol and Haskovo to avoid congestion near the former border crossing.
However, passenger and freight trains between Bulgaria and Romania will pass smoothly through the Danube Bridge, regardless of the closure of the road section of the bridge.
