At the beginning of the Iftar solemn dinner, which was held in honor of the ambassadors of Arab countries accredited in Sofia, Minister of Foreign Affairs Georg Georgiev emphasized the importance of dialogue, cooperation and shared responsibility for building a more peaceful and prosperous world.

“It is an honor to hold this first meeting with you during the holy month of Ramadan for you – a time of reflection, generosity and unity,” emphasized Minister Georgiev.

Highlighting the long-standing and lasting ties established in various economic and cultural spheres, Minister Georgiev emphasized that Bulgaria remains committed to promoting diplomatic dialogue and solving urgent global problems together with Arab partners.

The Bulgarian top diplomat also stressed that, against the backdrop of escalating tensions in the Middle East and the huge number of casualties and destruction in Gaza, Sudan, Yemen, Syria and Lebanon, progress on the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement is crucial.

"We support the Arab Plan for the Reconstruction of Gaza and initiatives such as the Global Alliance for a Two-State Solution, which strive for a just and secure future for all," Georgiev stressed.
