Sofia Municipality helps volunteers plant 835 trees

Around 835 trees will be planted through the #ForestInTheNeighborhood initiative of the Sofia Municipality. For this purpose, volunteers and donors will choose from 53 locations in 11 districts of Sofia.

“The initiative is a great opportunity for everyone who loves greenery and is not afraid to roll up their sleeves and create a small green oasis in their neighborhood,” said Sofia Mayor Vasil Terziev.

Experts from the “Green System” Directorate and district administrations will assist the volunteers with advice throughout the entire process – from choosing trees to actually planting them.

One of the most impressive proposals from the foresters is a terrain that is suitable for planting 205 Japanese cherry trees in the Kremikovtsi district.

Anyone who wishes to join #ForestInTheNeighborhood can contact the Sofia Municipality at email: so_green@sofia.bg and tel: (+359 2) 904 14 21.
